Position:Home>Theater & Acting> I want to learn how to...?

Question:I want to learn how to accurately imitate other voices. I saw a guy on YouTube imitate 100 famous TV characters in less than 5 minutes and I'm jealous. Does anyone know any special techniques or where I can learn how? Best answer gets 10 points, and if your answer is REALLY good I'll give you an extra ten later in a question called "to the victor go the spoils".

Like anything that you are great at in life, practice, practice, practice. This is obviously someone who has an innate talent in imitating voices and that's awesome but if that's not your thing you may have something just as great that he can't do even with years of practice... The best you can do is try and try some more. Find a unique voice and do it. See if people recognize it. Do it often and until you annoy others with it then move on to another one until you can make them have a conversation with each other. You just keep going until that conversation gets so complicated you've just imitated 100 voices in 5 minutes :-)

good luck,
Marianne

It's like writing you have to practice, you have to learn how to use your voice, but remember your voice does have limits so no matter what you might not be able to do every voice you wanted to, but if you study them and practice you can get close to lots, I use to do some voices, I loved carol burnett!
