You need to be SPECIAL and outstanding to make it in Hollywood, right?.....well.

Question:My question is how do you know if you are something special and stand out from the rest of the actors after the same thing?

What face do you need? (an ordinary pretty face...)what body?( thin and muscular...) what personality?(girly, diva..)

AND How do you know if YOU have TALENT??

Um...I remind you that Hollywood IS the place where Brittney Spears made it big? That ought to tell you how well it can judge quality.

1. You'd need to be a quick thinker, able to roll with the punches.
2. You'd need to be able to accurately memorize lines and disciplined enough to do it.
3. Willing to work long, hard hours.
4. Willing and able to learn a variety of things, from carpentry, to piano playing, to horse back riding, and more--quickly.
5. Willing to take risks.
6. Able to stay away from drugs and alcohol, because those will kill a career faster than any weight gain.

I asked my mom this once (she's a Hollywood agent)- Talent is everything. Beauty- yeah, it matters a bit, but not everything. Someone clean cut, bubbly, quirky, and sophisticated

Id say more make it on luck,percistance, and already have a foot in the door

Those things help but I think it's more a matter of the right place at the right time. Do the current batch of stars seem like the hardest workers in Hollywood?

I think about when you stop asking yourself those questions and go for it. But I could be wrong.
Hollywood is packed with secretly unhappy people, but the facade is one of utter self-confidence.

is it the money? cause there's other ways of making money, lots of it, without giving up your precious gift of invisibility. you think those people are happy? all they have is money and a very small world they can travel around in. people are CONSTANTLY stalking them, exposing them, making their lives a LIVING HELL!! you think that's worth it? we can go to 1000 times as many places as they can. they are in PRISON!!

You can just be you(whatever that may be) and make it in Hollywood. What it takes is the ability to convey what the part requires- girly, diva, whatever, and the look that the people doing the casting think is right for the part. Look at Hilary Swank, successful, beautiful, 2 Academy awards for playing a"boy" and a boxer.
The only way to find out if you have talent is to put yourself out there, school drama, community theater or any other experience available to you locally. The rest of it is a matter of luck

Not really, many Hollywood actors, at least in it's infancy, were simply persistent and worked at their craft.

You can hardly call Ernest Borgnine a pretty face, he's won an Oscar. Clint Eastwood was discouraged early on and told to do other things than act. Most actors have some sort of story like that. I mean top actors earn millions for a reason, but there are hundreds of thousands of performers out there, you only get to see the top 200 or so in the press. Some earn a decent living at it, some never do and keep at it for the love of the art.

Obviously, it's not easy, you have to constantly hone your craft and network like crazy, just like any other career where you aim for the top. No free lunch.

As for talent? Take lessons, join a troupe, get on stage and ACT! It becomes pretty obvious if you have a knack for it. See you in the movies.

it depends on the part. thats all i have to say. plain and simple. to know if u are talented: well ppl who are experienced and just audience members (not ur parents) tell u. and u get parts

You need to make those making the decisions feel you will do well filling the part.

You know you have talent by how many jobs you get.

well its all kinda about who you know, YOUR TALENT, nad the way you present yourself.... beauty really has nothing to do with acting the agent wants to ak money and if they only excepted beautiful people then there would be ALOT of bad actors b/c everyone who has been sucessful in accting isnt necessarily the most attractive people, be confident in yourself there isnt jsut one look tht is jsut what they want you to think nad youll know if you ahve talent becuase then they'll pick you or if you try out for school plays and stuff youll stand out and get the part never doubt yourself and ALWAYS have confidence confidence is key
