Question:i am about to send photos to local model/talent agencies i have the pictures ready but i have a few questions...

how do ifind local talent/modeling agencies in the washington DC area?

how do i kno if they are trustworthy or a scam?

what info do i need to put that is about me?

just google your talent agencies in your area.
they're a scam if they make you pay a fee up front.
a legit agency wouldn't make you pay something just to meet with a rep.

you need a resume & coversheet to go with a headshot.
resume should include experience, contact information, and any other information you think would be important for the agencies to know. only list important stuff though. also try to make everything one page. [one headshot, another resume page, and a coversheet page] and staple them together. the agencies go through a LOT of paperwork so your packet being stapled with help them prevent losing your information.

Just talk to people, check online, you'll find the agencies.
You won't know if it's a scam until you're in contact with them and they sound like a scam.
For example making you pay hundreds of dollars for them to represent you.

I don't know about washington area but I do know that if you put even one dollar into it, you have been ripped off. A good talent agency pays you...not you pay them. So if you are asked to pay anything, it is just a money making business for the agency. You will see that your money will have not accomplished anything at the end of the program. Watch and see what I say!!!!!

you used to be able to check on www.sag.org without being a member but i guess now that has changed so just try searching "local talent/modeling agencies in the washington DC area" on yahoo. or look in a phone book other than that there isnt much to do because sag.org would have been your best bet.
