There's a saying "If it is to be, it is up to me".
Your question does not indicate how old you are which could play a big part in your dream.
If you are still in school, take advantage of drama, plays, choirs and other areas that will get you involved and prepped for acting.
If you're older, contact colleges and check into performing arts for acting.
Some say anyone can be an actor, but it takes a great deal of time, energy and practice to be a good actress.
If you have a supportive family, friends, teachers, coworkers and/or other people or resources in your life, inquire through them.
Stay away from those who say you can't be an actress so they won't steer you away from your dream.
You can also get your phone book out and look in the yellow pages to find production companies, drama/acting academy's or schools.
Beware of online lures as they can lead to pornography and other deceiving roads.

That's how those you see on television and movies started, just like you're about to do.

try joining d acting academy

go to LA start small like local plays and local commercials and work your way up to movies

Go to Hollywood, do auditions, make a myspace and youtube account.. anything to spread your name. the more people that know you, the better chance you have at being successful.

be rich or do good in drama in school
modeling
body exposure

go to a nearby dancing, gymnastics or acting place, so u can get confidence & are able to know whats involved.
also try googling acting & steps to becoming a n actor.

Take acting classes that are REAL acting classes, not community classes taught by the high school theatre wannabe. They are expensive, but they are great training and networking places.

Try out for EVERYTHING! I'm behind the scenes most summers with a theatre company, and the buzz is: try out for everything. It's as much a numbers game as it is talent. Auditions get you seen. You may not be perfect for this show, but if your audition was interesting, you will be remembered next time around.

If you are really serious, get an agent. Remember that good agents don't get paid until you do. If an agent is asking for money up front for photos, paperwork, networking fees, that agent is not for real. Dump the dope and find a real one.

Do NOT sleep with everyone!! Do NOT sleep with ANYONE for a role. The casting couch is a nasty myth that too many performers fall for. Don't be one of them. Demand respect everywhere from everyone.
