How can you get to act in commercials?

Question:Ok, I am 13 years old, and all my life I've loved acting. I have been told I was funny, and a great actor, witch flatters me. I don't know how to get into commercials or anything on television though. The worst part is, Ihave no past experience in acting, can anyone tell me how to get into a commercial?

At 13, whatever you do, you're going to have to enlist the help of your parents, because they have to sign any contracts.

You need some commercial head shots and an agent - in your case, who represents children - most of the time. It depends on where you live. One thing you can do is call advertising agencies and ask where they get their talent.

If you're in a big city and can take a class or do extra work in a commercial, it's a good way to learn about hitting your mark and all that. If you have a video camera, practice reading copy in front of it as well just to give yourself an idea of how you look and how you come off.
