Do your best to look the part! I'm not saying you should dress up in a pair of ruby red slippers or anything (lol), but it always helps if the director can "see" you in the part. If it were me, I'd avoid anything that makes me look too modern, I'd do a very naturally-made-up face with slightly pouty lips, and put my hair in a way that's reminiscent of Dorothy, but not outrightly so: instead of pigtails, curl your hair and put it in a low ponytail swept over one shoulder.

Best of luck!

Sing from the show ONLY if you can blow everyone away. Otherwise, use a song from another show and let the director and music director work with you once you're cast. Try another Harold Arlen song (I think it was Harold Arlen who wrote "...Rainbow")

Auditioning from the show is never a good idea unless the audition notice says to specifically.

The one thing you can not do, is imitate Judy Garland. When you audition, make sure it is YOU who is coming through. And that is especially true for the monologue
It isn't always a good idea to do your audition piece on the play that you are trying out for because th director already has his vision of Dorothy in his head - and if you don't match that vision, no matter how talented you are, you will likely not make the cut. So - unless you have been told to prepare something from the Wizard, think about doing something a little fresh and new. You'll stand out in a sea of would-be Dorothys.
good luck on your audition

No tips I just want to say go get them and blow away those judges!! Good Luck!

ok...I second the answer below about not doing material from the show unless there are specific instrustions to do so....you want to show that you are a great performer...not just a great dorothy...i'm crossing my fingers for you but if the director looks up at you while you're doing everything dorothy he might completely miss that if you aren't right for the role of dorothy you're kick *** for the role of Glinda...just a tip and good luck
