Position:Home>Theater & Acting> How do you get good seats for theatre . hows?

Question:I have tried to book tickets for shows at the NIA and NEC in Birmingham on many occasions online, only to find the seats alloctated are right at the back of the arena. These shows are some 8 months away, so it would be doubtfull if all the best tickets had already been sold. Similar experiences at London Theatres, is there an art to booking, can anyone offer any suggestions ?

This is were I get my tickets REALLY CHEAP, this is the best way to do this for seats in London, go to the web page that I have given you below scroll to the play that you want to go to and just follow the links..just before you find seats get the seating plan of the theatre that you want to go to I normally google it.I am taking my 14 yr old to see phantom of the opera in London in a couple of weeks our seats are the best seats in the royal circle ( front row) for £35.00 instead of £55.00, if you look down the list the tickets start at £15.00 and they don't charge you a booking fee or postage fee there is no catch the name gilt stands for ..Get into London theatre.... its worth the journey to London

Buy early and opt for the best available in the highest priced section. Even then you're not guaranteed a good seat.

These days ticket brokers buy tickets in bulk and then sell them for inflated value. That's the reason that the Hanna Montana concerts sold out in minutes with seats subsequently being offered by these ticket scalpers for $2000 dollars and up!

Also, if there are subscribers to a ticket season, they usually get first choice at available seating. You might consider subscribing to a theater's season, especially if there's a popular show offered.

I usually book through Ticketmaster and have managed to get good seats although I agree...sometimes it is hard. We've managed to get first and second row seats for London (Phantom and Joseph) but had to buy several months in advance. Might be worth trying them. Good luck

I usually try and book directly with the venue. I have previously bought through Ticketmaster but they charge a high booking fee. See Tickets are good but sometimes don't have such a good allocation of tickets.
Try the venue first - either online or by phone. Good luck!
