What should my stage name be?

Question:im really getting into the acting thing right now, it's my absolute passion
but my last name is 'goode' and it's really naff, my agency says i need to get a stage name
like dakota blue richards (golden compass) is only her stage name

my maiden name was childs and my brother changed his to goodwin. julia child never changed hers..and if you watch the credits at the end of shows/movies..you often see someone with the last name childs, and (LOL), and altho they're not at the top credits, they're not a gofer either :)

I'd definitely keep your last name,it's original and memorable.But remember stay away from that old "casting couch." Alot of women are lured there under the pretense of stardom. Only to find out that their staring role was the fifteen minutes on the couch.

If your agency want you to change your name, do they have any suggestions? If there is another actress with the same name as you, then I would suggest keeping your first name and changing your surname. Does anyone else in your family have a better surname? What was your mother's surname before she married your father? Having a good stage name will not make you a better actress. If you are good, you will be remembered whatever your name is.
