As I recall, Hattie sings most of the solo parts of that song. She sings about a verse or two before the rest of the ensemble comes in, and several more verses throughout the rest of the song.

It's the opening of the show; there is a lot of activity on stage, but it's a good song for whoever is playing Hattie--they get to start off the show.
