Have you ever tried acting and have you ever seen a tape or recording of your performance. Untill you can write back and tell me that your performance is up to par with the likes of lets say... Meryl Streep and Sean Penn I suggest you think again before posting such a ridiculous question. Actor's are artists. And there are very few that are good at it as well.

Furthermore, have you ever seen a peformance that moved you emotionally, either through tears or laughter or even rage? This takes talent...most are either born with it or must learn the craft. But to able to pull off a role requires 100% commitment to be truthful in the character and risk showing your soul.
A good show to watch is "Inside the Actor's Studio". You might learn a few things from these actors...

One more side note...Drama has been around ever since ancient Greece when performers were called Thespians....later came Shakespeare.

Trust me! They are smart. They wouldnt be in their position if their not smart but they are people too. Everyone makes mistake.

Actors and Actresses are actually human by the way. They're exactly like us, just know how to act well. There is no doubt that some actors/actresses are not the brightest people as you've mentioned, but hey, they are human, and they do make mistakes.

As a general rule that's not true because by and large 75% of them all have 4 year college degrees and the best of the lot went for Masters training at hard to get into institutes like Julliard.

As an example, Dolph Lundgren. He holds, of all things, a Chemistry degree. Which means he took Calculus 3 and 4, plus statistics and organic chemistry.

James Woods has a 150+ IQ and in his spare time he's an ace poker player.

You must be thinking of models, most of them can't even speak.

Actually, you have to be REALLY smart in order to learn how to protray a million different characters at once, how about memorize a hundred page script? You have to have a pretty good memory to do that. By the way, their playing what you call 'make-believe' earns them millions of dollars. I know plenty of people who agree with you, but I don't. Of course, I'm and actress and have actor and actress friends, so that's probably why I have the opinion that I do.

Also my other actress friend and I are in the Gifted and Talented program for espically smart people. And many actors are home schooled (like my other friends) and have skipped one of two grades (like my other friends). Well, thats my opinion....I hope you learn to see my side, even if you don't learn o agree with it! Bye!

If you mean Paris and Britney, everyone has made a mistake like that, they just aren't under the spotlight all of the time. There are plent of 16 year olds that are pregnant, but they just didn't have a lucky breack to be put under the spotlight 24/7.

As for models, they are plenty smart, as I am one- not the runway, but print and catalog. And almost all of them are normal, and do NOT have an eating disorder!

Also many child actor/actresses/models have matured faster from working under the circumstances and meeting so many new people, who might end up paying them!
