Personally, I would pick Once Upon A Mattress.
Here is a good synopsis and other things about the show: http://www.stageagent.com/shows.php?id=7...

Here is one about The Pajama Game:

The reason I would pick Once Upon a Mattress is because I feel that although The Pajama Game is a great musical, and has some comedic moments, I feel musically wise, and age- appreciation wise, Once Upon A Mattress is better. It is a very funny musical comedy. It is basically an adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Princess and the Pea. Some famous songs from Once Upon A Mattress are "Shy" (probably the best known) "Song of Love" "Sensitivity" "Happily Ever After" "Normandy" and "In A Little While"

I've seen both:
Once Upon a Mattress - I think everything the first poster said is correct. My only reservation that it has only one really great role, Princess Winnifred, which was written for Carol Burnett . That will leave everyone else with kind of limited roles and your show will be up to the comic skill of one girl. Sarah Jessica Parker tried this role in a revival and was pretty much banned from Broadway for life.

Pajama Game: The subject matter doesn't seem right for kids and it may seem dated, although the recent revival was a great hit. It has many great parts which will make your actors happy. Pajama Game also has as many great songs as any show has ever had including I'm Not At All in Love, 'll Never Be Jealous Again, Hey There, Once a Year Day, Steam Heat, Hernando's Hideaway and several more all fun.
The more I think about it the more I think you should consider Pajama Game - You could listen to the cast album or if its available watch the film version to help you decide if kids will like it.

Good luck

I've never head of The Pajama Game before but my high school did Mattress last year and it was alot of fun.
