You could get voice lessons, but there may not be enough time/money for that.

With warmups, it's hard to give you those over the internet...there are like cds and stuff, or if you play the piano there are things you can do. Sorry I can't really be descriptive. Are you in choir? Even if you're not, maybe you could ask the choir teacher at your school for advice, or if you feel awkward doing that just ask them for a cd/tape/sheet music of warmups you could do.

I can't do a huge amount of good for you over the computer, but here are some basics:

-have good posture
-mentally "visualize", or in this case "hear" the sound you want to make before you sing it. this can really help you hit the note you want to hi. if you start a song on the right note, it will usually go well from there
-keep your palate open (hard to explain, but if you know what i mean it totally helps)
-breathe! through your diaphragm, your chest shouldn't rise and fall, your gut should - ask a friend who sings for help on breathing
-a lot of times you have a much wider range than you think, it's just that when you imagine trying to hit a certain note that intimidates you, your throat closes up a little involuntarily- this also happens when you're nervous. so when you audition, just keep your head high and be confident. know that you can do it!
-make sure you take care of your voice and of yourself in general. if you live in a cold climate, bundle up when you go outside to make sure you don't get sick. wear scarves outside, drink lots of water, and don't yell or strain your voice! also, no chocolate, milk, cheese, soda, or coffee right before you sing.

Get the karaoke cd of this show and practice with it. It may not be a huge huge help, but it'll be fun! And you'll get to know the music better. Make sure you listen to the regular cd of the show too, the more familiar with it you are the better.

Break a leg!

Do an audition in front of Simon Cowell and see what he says!

Happy Holidays!

Can you play an instrument? Maybe try to sing along, to get the 'feel' of the notes. Or have a friend play it while you sing along.

first get comfortable with your singing voice, you have to believe that you have a good voice, then start singing! sing whenever possible, in the car, in the shower, with your friends, then to tone it up, practice with a piano doing scales and singing with any sheet music that you have, try to have perfect pitch, then pick an audition song, something that others have said that you re good at, practice it so you know all the words by heart, but you can bring the music if you need to, and if possible, practice with a voice instructor for a few weeks or someone who has had a lot of experience!

Good Luck!!

Take private voice lessons.

First of all, try singing along with other people and listen to match pitch with them. make sure your vowels are nice and crisp. In order to get nice vowels try putting two fingers in between your lips so that it makes a nice O shape.

To Build confidence, practice. Try singing your piece in front of everyone! Burst out into songs while with your friends and just have fun with it. Feel the song and build a character. Pretend you are the person and your audience is the person that youre dedicating the song to.

here are some few midis that you might find helpful

Another thing would be to try and record yourself. It usually helps ALOT!

Good luck and break a leg!
