Well, first of all you have to REALLY WANT it. You have to go audition and show that even if you aren't perfect you're trying your best.

Well you are going to have to if you want to be a song writter and singer. Secondly, the love of singing and fame are two completely different things!

Love for the art as to be more important than the fame. If it truly is then you will know what to do. Keep writing and showing your work.

It shouldn't be about being famous. If you just work at what you do and take things one step at a time with a good head on your shoulders... things will eventually happen.

Be Brave and try to believe in yourself that you can do it!
