Does anyone have any audition tips?

Question:Does anyone have any audition tips? I think I will try out for Marian the Librarian in the Music Man.

I have a very high soprano voice. I am in three choirs and have been singing since I was 2 years old. My twin sister and I were the only ones in the history of our school to make it into our school choir in 5th grade. Would Marian the Librarian be a good part for me? Thanks!

Okay, here are some good audition tips:
1. Dress nicely. Don't wear tank tops, mini-skirts, etc. Wear a nice top and dress pants or a skirt.
2. Drink water an hour before you sing. This really helps!
3. Do some voice warm-ups before you sing.
4. If you need to speak for the part, speak loudly and clear enough so they could understand you.

I have a friend who is a beautiful soprano, however she always forgets to act the song. Whatever your audition song is, try it as a monologue, and find some intention behind it. That way you can wow them with your voice and your acting ability at the same time.

well here is what i do!
1. speak in front of a mirror ( as a dumb as it sounds it helps)
2. drink a bottle of water everyday and clean your tounge
3. sing these as a warmup
bippity bobbity boooo and go higher and then deaper
yellow mellow yellow mellow yellow mellow go slow then faster in high and low
1234543213531 go fast then slow and sing high then low

4. have a friend watch you
5. say your lines loud and clear!
6. if you can record what u sing do so and practice till auditions!
