Question:In the play Macbeth by Shakespeare, the character Macbeth seems to think he can order and control the three witches all he wants and they will respond to him. Not only are they immortal and way more powerful than him, but they possess something he wants. Last time I checked, he would have been better off to ASK for their help then to demand they tell him his destiny. He may be King of Scotland and getting kind of tyrannical, but surely he must realize that he has no business ordering them about.
This is shown in Act 4, Scene 1, Lines 48 - 62

didn't he wind up saying he'd been an idiot? (his final lines?) seems i read that in some script somewhere....
but like most people who get to be in charge, he got all full of himself and that was a bad thing for him...

He's a man trying to deal with women. AND he's royalty. We've got to forgive him for being a little clueless.

He is part of royalty. So he thinks he can do whatever he likes. Those were the days you know.
