Question:I don't have a ton of acting experience, but I'm pretty good, I'm good at showing emotions, and I really really love acting. I could probably do a comedy or a more dramatic piece, so I'm not super specific. I need a 2-3 minute memorized monologue and a 2-3 minute song. I'm a pretty good singer so if anyone can help me with that too I'd love that. Please help me. I'm dying to get into this camp.

Considering your experience, I would purchase a monologue book, so that you have several options to consider. I would also stick with a book that contains monologues from notable plays and/or musicals rather than a book that has monologues created specifically for that book. Next, purchase a song book from a musical or several musicals, and choose a song that shows your range. Good luck!

whatever you do DONT buy a monologue book, thats deadly. get your monologues from plays . Try modern . What is your ethnicty. What is the name of the camp? a good play to try from is " How i learned to drive" or " Night mother" Dont do a neil simon his works are weak ( funny but weak). For the song try and stay away from disney shows.
