Position:Home>Theater & Acting> I want to move to pursue acting?

Question:I've been acting since I was three, doing stage and some commercials, I've done print modelling and this is what I want to do with my life. My mother and I however are having an arguement over which city would be better to move to. She thinks that New York would be better for me and that I might be able to find a job better there than anywhere else. I feel that New York leans more toward stage acting, and I really want to concentrate on screen. I've had a little trouble with my agent (he died) and i'm looking for a new one, but I live in Kansas right now and I don't want to get another one here where they will place me in jobs in KS. So What I would really like to know is which city should I focus on moving to? Please, no rude comments, I just want input from someone who lives in either city or has had experience with this. thank you in advance.

I am focused on screen too, however I found it a lot easier to earn my SAG and AFTRA cards in NYC than LA. There are fewer screen actors there.
I would recommend hitting New York first and signing with a bi-coastal agency so you can make the switch later. That is what I did and it is working out very well.
Good luck!!

id recommend Los Angeles... i am an actress myself trying to hit it big, and all the feature films are usually shot there.. although if you have noticed they actually are starting to use cities like NYC and Boston as places to shoot feature films too.. i think Los Angeles is your best bet though..
