For cinderellla i would recommend singing something like part of that world from the little mermaid. something that really showcases a softer voice, but dont try to be soft, be confident, but dont sing loud and belty because cinderella is meant for a softer voice. as for the acting, since u can use the sheet, use the 5 minutes to read it over carefully and make descisions on line delivery and that kind of thing. if you do that im sure you will get a good part.

For the acting part, just put too much character into the monologue. You can always cut, and they can see the extent of your acting. There are a lot of symphonic rock/metal for mezzo-sopranos (I'm one, too).

Also, being as nervous as you possibly can be is a good idea. Then adrenaline kicks in, and you do better.

Since it is Cinderella, I would suggest using a musical theater piece. There are a lot of good songs for young mezzo sopranos in Cinderella, such as "In My Own Little Corner," but they might not let you perform a song from Cinderella. Another good song is "Til There Was You," from the Music Man. I sang it a couple of months ago for an audition. They really liked it.
13 might be a little bit young for Cinderella and the fairy god mother, depending on what they are looking for, but the step sisters are generally played by any age. For the monologue part, you just have to be prepared to act. This month, you should try and brush up on your acting skills. If you can, take theater classes and run over monologues. Find as much information as you can on the internet and in books about the show- character descriptions, play summaries, etc.
Hope I could help!

i must diagree with the wole thing about cinderella being a "soft sweet singer". Ive seen many great cinderellas who had a little pop.opera in them. Try to not do a song from the show.

Fiona Cambell, Brigadoon, Song: Waitin' For My Dearie" (Accent Alert!)

Belle, Beauty & The Beast

Audrey, Little Shop Of Horrors, Song: "Somewhere That's Green"

Essie, Redhead, Song: "The Right Finger of My Left Hand"

Marion Halcombe, The Woman in White, Song: "All For Laura"

Watch the fallowing Cinderella, I personally think that shes one of the BEST cinderellas ever. The stepsisters are perfect aswell. Notice how this particular cinderella is sweet yet she adds a little more character and pop into it.
