Aspriring Actress help and advice please! where do i go next?

Question:I want to become an actress and have worked toward it for as long as I remember, I am 15. I was hoping for any advice of where to go from here. I have taken private classes for several years, done theater classes, and did one play which went to competion and I got an award for best actress over all. I live in Texas so if you have advice please apply it to my area, but I do hope to move to California when I'm older. Thank you for your advice!!

Well first of all you should decide whether you want to be a tv/film actress and move to cali, or a theater/broadway/soap actress, which i would recommend NY. If your in acting classes your on the right track. Threw them ask if they could recommend any agents. Your at a great age, where you could play a child, teen, or adult depending on what you look like. Agents like versatility. Once you find some agents you will go audition for them and they will decide to sign you or not. Then they will find you auditions. They will find them locally and out in NY and LA. Try to stick with the agency if they find you anything good, and hopefully when you choose to move you'll have a good enough resume where you can start getting SAG credit ( screen actors guild ) For some large films you can't even audition if your not in SAG. Your on the right track. Keep going and you'll make it far

Before anything else because you are under 18yrs of age you cannot do anything without your parents approval. No one that is not a scam will give you a job in acting without your parents because you are only 15yrs old. That is how it works in in TV/Film (Hollywood). My advice keep doing the plays at school and do as much as you can. Either get the parents approval or wait 3 more years until you turn 18. By the way you don't necessarily need to move to Cali. The auditions are usually where the film will be made at. Don't ever stop, if that is you are a true actor. Most people get bored and leave it but I never did and now I am an actor.

Unfortunately the website is down right now, but it will be back up.. it's SAG, it has to be. If that page isn't the right one just go to the home page at SAG.org and go from there. There are a lot of agencies that claim to be reputable but if they're not contracted with SAG don't do it. And if they ask for money of any kind don't do it. Agents work for you. You will have to get professional headshots but you should be able to go to whomever you like or someone they may recommend. Never should you pay them for anything until they get you work. Then it's usually about 20% of what you make on the job. Hope that helps. ;) Best of luck to you.

sounds like your doing fine already keep it up.

Send your head shot to casting directors and agents in Los Angeles along with your resume. It's a long shot, but a shot.

Also send your picture to the local advertising agencies and maybe you can get some local or regional TV commercial work.
