Position:Home>Theater & Acting> I need a two-person monologue!!?

Question:Me and a friend are auditioning at a small local theater for "Anne Of Green Gables" and we can't find any good two-person monologue. And yes, there is such a thing as a two-person monologue so don't start talking about all the 'mono' stuff ok? Me and my friend are two teenage girls.

Here is a great page I put together that has place for you to find the kind of monologue you are looking for as well as tips on how to memorize it and common mistakes to avoid when you are performing it. http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/comic...

hmm.. i would recommend finding a good script or play you both like and you'll be sure to find a two person monologue from there.

If not, then theres always the good old Romeo and Juliet... the balcony scene. Whats really effective is if you two perform it (one being Romeo, and the other being Juliet of course) both looking directly at the audience (or over their heads.. as if you are talking to some imaginary person at the back of the room) as you perform it. Make sure you stare at the same spot through out though, otherwise it wont work as well. Maybe even have juliet up on a chair/box (to symbolise the balcony) . You have to be really passionate and into the character tho. Really effective and a great monologue if you can pull it off =].
