Definitely a wasted trip! If you go to Good Morning America, you wait in long lines to get in a huge crowd, and the only way to get near a window (which is how you would see him, because he'll probably perform inside and then only maybe come outside for a brief interview) or to the rail around where they speak is to show up like most of the huge Groban/GMA fans do between 3-5 AM.

You also don't need tickets to get in, but I can almost promise you will hardly glance him (except for on the TV sets that are above the windows there, so you might as well just stay and watch it on TV at home..) and you DEFINITELY will not touch him, talk to him, or even really get near him.

the fact that you're going to New York and the reason is Josh Groban makes it a wasted trip. There's much better to do in NYC than wait around hoping Josh Groban will notice you in a crowd of tons of people.

If he's appearing on Good Morning America, I don't believe you need tickets. If it's anything like the Today Show, you just show up as early as you possibly can and hang out. Be real nice to the crew people setting up and ask where you'll be allowed to stand. Bringing a couple of extra coffees may not hurt... Did you try looking at the show's website for hints? Or maybe Josh Groban's site?

Good luck!
