Can anyone give me an idea on what to base a play about for a talent show?

What is the time frame you have to fill? that's important. I assume you're working with a tiny amount for set dressing. It's probably a short play. You want to plan a theme, that presumes something quick, with plot, to fit a short time frame. Theme would the same. Example. Set. A bus bench. It must be recognized as such. Non-speaking actors, and actresses, dressed differently, waiting for a bus. Example. Construction worker, business man,(holding brief case) waitress in uniform, hobo, etc. In back of the bus stop, non speaking actors, actresses, (extras) are walking across the stage, to mimic people walking on the sidewalk. The main actor, runs up to the bus stop, looking at his watch. He looks in his pockets, no money. Takes out wallet, no money. He stops girl on street, and trades watch for locket on neck. He sells locket to another for a buck. He offers buck to bum looking guy walking on side walk, for his cup of coffee. Here's the kicker. BUM looking guy is WALMART CEO, who's tight, and cheap, WALKING to work. He give's guy $10, and a better paying job at wal-mart. Guy gives back coffee, and $10. WALKS off. Make a statement. Any part of this is a good idea.
