Question:Hi everyone, i am a 12 year old girl who loves to sing!!! I want to audition for the school play after school on monday but the problem is that after school on monday i have pitching lessons for softball. Softball has been my "main focus" for a while now and i love softball but i also love singing and i think this is going to be one of my only chances to see if i really love acti.g to (i've wanted to try acting for a while). But the only problem is that my parent dont know that i want to audition for the school play and you need permision from your parents to audition for the school play. I know my dad is not going to be happy if i tell him that i want to audition for the school play instead of going to pitching lessons. Do you have any ideas how i can tell him becuase i'm kind of scared/nervous. Thank you!!!

Tell your mom first, and see what she says. If she supports you then that's great. Maybe she could talk to your dad for you. If not, you just need to tell your dad. He shouldn't make you do something you don't want to do though. It's your life and you should get to choose what you want to do. However, your parents would put a lot of time into driving you there and everything. Still, you just need to tell them and hope for the best. If not, maybe you could still do plays in highschool. Still, you're just a kid figuring out what you want to do. They should support you in whatever you want to be involved in (as long as they're good things you're doing!) Again feel free to email!

tell your dad that you want to try new things and that he cant decide what you want to do. its your life. but if he gets upset just tell him youll do pitching lessons, but you wont put too much in it.
