i think its in the third act, first scene.

Tybalt challenges Romeo to a duel. However, Romeo is in love with Juliet, so does not wish to harm her cousin. Mercutio, though, is hot-headed, and fights Tybalt himself. Tybalt sneakily, and dishonorable, kills Mercutio. Romeo, greatly angered by this, kills Tybalt and is banished.

Tybalt is killed by Romeo. Mercutio is killed by Tybalt if I'm remembering correctly. That's why Romeo kills Tybalt.

Do a search for "Romeo and Juliet text" - make sure you get the book text, not any movie scripts. I know the complete book is online because I've used it before. I just don't have a clue to the site. Check there to be sure.
