I t is very slow for me right now - not many auditions at all. What are some things I can do (besides classes - Im already doing that) while I wait for things to pick up?

Some ideas:

~Stage a reading of a play with actor friends of yours. If it goes really well invite people who might be interested in producing the play.

~Create a monologue/scene group and have everyone bring in a fresh piece each time so you can all learn about new material.

~Participate in student films. It may not pay but you will build your resume, got more experience and be helping students learn their craft. Who knows someday they may make it big and recall the person who helped them out way back when.

~Produce your own show. Is there a show you have always wanted to do. Now is your time.

~Get some friends together who have film equipment and create an independent film. It doesn't matter if it is high quality.

~Go audition for even the things you don't think there is a role for you in or you wouldn't be interested in. Every auditioning experience makes you even better.
