How can I start acting?

Question:I can portray other people pretty well, and people all around me have said that I am really pretty. (I know that I'm not being modest here, but its Yahoo Answers) I think that if I try acting, I would be able to do it. So how do I get started?

You need lots of experience. Then you need to put a resumae together and have headshots taken. Send your resumaes and headshots to local agencies. Hopefully someone will want to represent you. From there, your agent can book you auditions and jobs.

If you get rejected at first, don't feel bad, it happens all the time in show business. Just keep trying.

join ur local acting club

take drama course at a local CC or JC or voullenteer to work at a back street theater and learn from the ground up

well,u have to really be sure that u've got talent,not just a pretty face...professional proof,and not just the family and friends around...then,u have to study acting to understand this art in all its aspects..joining an institution will help u to test urself and ur capabilities,not to mention,giving u better opportunities that might help u on the way...good luck:)
