Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Need help making a greek "Stage"?

Question:I am doing an english project and i need to build a 'stage' for one of the pieces we've read. Its pretty much like a room box, but without the walls . I wanted to do a scene from Antigone, but i need help. Were the greek stages usually round? or like a semicircle (Round in front, straight in the back.) Also. Would they have props during these times? or just the actors on stage. I'm not really sure how to make this work. Thanks for any help!

Here is a website that has history of what their theatre was like.

look up "greek theatres" on wikipedia (:

Greek theatres also had alters. This was important for sacrafices. There was also an area called the "orchestra" which ment the "singing place" where the chorus would sing/perform it's lines. They had a building like thing upstage that was later used as a changing area. This is as far as I can remember. But you should google it for a more accurate description.
