Position:Home>Theater & Acting> What should/shouldn't you eat before an audition ((musical))?

Question:I've heard all about the dairy stuff, but are there any other things that you should/shouldn't eat? I want to know, because it's in two days. Does tea help with your voice?

I've done a few auditions before, even aced one and got the part! I found it best to eat as little as possible but definitely stay away from dairy, caffeine and sugars! Tea is OK but only if you can stand to drink it unsweetened. Chilled water and a light soup is the best way to go.

you shouldn't eat chocolates or carbs, because they inhibit your muscles from functioning the way they should... good luck and break a leg :)

Beans, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, dairy products, heavy meal and caffeine.

Sweets and sweet drinks (like orange juice) can leave a sticky film in your mouth and throat. Also, what I've discovered (the hard way) is not to gargle with mouthwash that contains alcohol, because it can dry out your mouth - especially if you are prone to dry mouth when you're nervous.

Warm tea may help. However, I would avoid using sweeteners in it.
