How can i become a tv star?

Question:Well, this is my fixed ambition. What can i do to get myself on screen? I love acting. And i'm chinese. i wanna go to Taiwan to further my studies in a drama school. But is that the right path to get me to my dream? I heard people saying that modelling is always the best way to get notice but is that truth? I dont mind being an extra or whatever, just to get on screen and act but how do i start? Where should be my starting point? And btw, i'm 16 this year and i'm from singapore. Please drop an answer for me. Thanks!

Well the dream about being a tv/movie star is a great one and is dreamed by many people all over the world. So many that its in facts goes millions of less known actors for every star. And it takes tough and unglorius work or much luck to even be a descent actor that gets interesting parts.

With that said I doesnt know much about asian tv/movie production but a generall suggsestion is to google the web after production companys in your area and other meaning of getting experience and conections. But its always a good advice to stay in school so that you will have something to fall back on if your actor dreams doesnt give you the life you wants. It could also be a good idea to move to an area (like la) were there are a lot of movie/tv productions going on but that is something for you and your parents to sort out.

Also remember that there is a bunch of "bad boys" out there that wants to make a profit out of young girls and boys dreams of a better life. So stay out of anything that could get you into trouble. Johan

If you want to become a movie star. Take some theater classes. Look up some of the tv companies, and then try to contact them. Send a video of yourself acting. Or see if there is a casting session anywhere that you could go to to try to see if you could get a part.

Take up acting and drama in school and than go to a school just for acting. From there you will be on the right track. Do not be a model first. That is definately not the answer. Actors have lots more talent than most models and need lots more specific training just for real acting.

Do not become a ballerina first either. They want you to be too thin...

you have to go drama classes, try out for tv acts and practice in front of family and when your skills are further developed you can perform in larger audiences. you will also have to do some modelling and ask your school's head of drama and get some guidance from them. you should also start performing and doing some roles for your local residential place and begin from that. also do something that you like and are familiar with so you could do something that has got to do with chinese or something you are good at. also always practice in front of mirror.

I do extra work often along with real roles...look in ur phone book and look up talent agencies also if u want to make it big time u must be in LA

FYI 2 be on a set u must have a parent with u until u reach the age of 18 so might talk to ur parents to see if they will take u to ur auditons and such and see if they will put up with being on a set with u for 10 plus hrs

hi, i guess you can start by going for acting or drama classes, 88db website has list of acting and drama classes you can try, well, maybe you can also try go for auditions on tv if there are any opening for drama acting roles...good luck
