Acting for me??

Question:I really want to be an actress like really badly. I take acting classes and im pretty good at it. I'm thinking of go to NY (Since my uncle lives there) and audtiton for movies. Does anyone have any tips for me as in being in a movie or trying out for one?

hon, as galinda from wicked would say "we better start cuz you have an awful long way to go", the acting business is one of the hardest to get into... especially for people your age! first off new york is not the place to go to audition for movies, los angeles is! if your looking to sing and act for broadway then go to new york! thats great your getting started so young! some tips for auditions are
1) always be in character no matter what
2) keep your spirit and attitude up in the audition room it will make the judges think your going to be fun to work with
3) always read the whole script before you audition for something
4) don't be afraid of rejection... its going to happen one time or another best to embrace it

keep your other options open, and have many different paths...you can enjoy acting and pursue it as a career but always have a reliable back up. The failure rate is higher, but if you have an alternate solution you'll be much better off.

Don't be afraid to take a small role, start small and work up.

don't put all your eggs in one basket. keep going to school. acting is reflective of the actor's experience..if you don't have a lot of experiences, you will not be a well rounded actor.
