Any acting suggestions?

Question:Im really shy when it comes to acting. Its mainly because its never been anything ive really done. The part im auditioning for is Dorthy in the Wizard of Oz. I really want to get this part. Im a confident person for the most part. How do i come out of my bubble, and what should i do that will land me the part. Any Dorthy acting suggestions would help! Thank you!

That is an awesome part. To come out of your bubble try to practice in front of your family, then in front of your close friends, then some more not as close friends. Just gradually build your confidence.
For Dorthy try to sound and act young. She's supposably not even a teenager yet in the Wizard Of Oz.

the most important part is to land the audition. pick a song that works well with your voice and really get into the charecter. really commit one hundred percent.

and if you dont get the part. dont sweat it, you'll still have a hundred more shows to audition for. on the plus side though, you'll have the first one out of the way, and the first one is by far the hardest.

*NOTE* when youre auditioning, make sure to make eye contact with the director or whoevers running the auditions. if you're just too nervous to do that, then focus on something in the back of the room and dont take your eyes off it.

i think that when your auditioning you should show off a little bit to show that you can get the part also to come out of your bubble try things that you have never done to get you ready for the part. an for the last thing believe in yourself and don't get your hopes to high~!
