How long does an Original Broadway Cast usually perform with a show?

Question:I know every show is different, but how long on average does the majority of the first cast stay with the Broadway show - assuming that the show is successful and shows no signs of closing.

I hope you can understand my question! Basically, if a new show were to open on Broadway right now, how long until the original cast gets changed?

well it really depends on the contract..a 8 month period is the normal...some are offered an extension by their choice

Depends on how well the show is going. Sometimes a couple months, sometimes over a year. They might even just switch out certain characters at a time. You would have to ask the producer of that particular show.

It depends on boredome (yes, after doing the same part 2,000 times you get a little tired of it), commitments (another play is in the works and sounds hot or you get a movie deal at ten times the salary) or when you see the end coming (seats are empty, ticket sales dropping).
