Don't think of topics or themes. Write about something that interests you! Put that into the context of two characters interacting for about 8 or 9 pages and you'll have written your first 10 minute play. If you're still interested after that, then do it again, and again, until you find someone outside your local circle who wants to produce it, or you win a contest. Both are good indicators that you should start a "professional" study of playwrighting -- books, classes, workshops, etc.
