Question:How much do you guys make if you get to be a spokesperson for a big commercial, for example....
a big well known insurance company? Do you guys make like a big flat amount or do you get paid every time the commercial plays? If so, how much? Just curious. Thanks!

There's a lot to this, actually.

First, there's SAG gigs and non-SAG gigs.
SAG is the Screen Actor's Guild.
To become a member of SAG, you need three SAG cards from three gigs.

There's a standard rate (scale) that is paid if you are non-SAG and a higher rate if you are SAG. Most commercials only take SAG actors.

Your agent and manager get portions of what you make.
You need an agent and a manager to get you jobs and arrange deals.

It's pretty rare for a non-SAG first-timer to get a national commercial, let along become a recurring spokesperson.

If you are new to the business, you won't make much. If you are a familiar face, you'll get paid more. If your first campaign for a company is successful, they will pay much for for future campaigns.

Newcomers generally get paid once. For a national ad, they may get residuals for plays in other markets. Some actors with good agents and managers get paid for every play (maybe pennies...but it ads up).

The amount varies by the company that's advertizing, how familiar and marketable the actor is, how good the agent is, etc. There are a lot of factors.

With a good national campaign (where you're the spokesperson), you would probably get paid well enough that you wouldn't have to work the rest of the year.

I can't give you real numbers because it varies so much....but I hope this helped.

it depends on how long your in the comercial for. if ur in it for at least 8 seconds you'll get paid when it airs.

Depending on what commercial and all, usually the session pays about $100 at LEAST. It depends, how popular the commercial will be: will it run during the night or day, what cities, etc. Plus you make residuals, which are checks for every time they renew the commercial for airing it again... which can get all the way up to 70,000 at least for a year.
