School Play?

Question:My friend says that she is auditioning for the school play, and I think that I want to too. But, I'm a musician, not an actress. I've never performed on stage, I've never attended one Drama Club meeting, and I just don't know what to expect. I know that I'll be really dissapointed in myself if I don't audition, but I don't know if I should. What if I choke, or embarass myself? What should I do?

I suggest going to the Drama Teacher at your school, if they are anything like the teachers at my school, they will be more than happy to help. They can give you tips etc and they will be happy to have such an enthusiatic student!
Just go for it girl..you never know what you can do until you give it a try (:

One thing to remember:Have absolutely no regrets. Project your voice while singing, if you can't remember the dance just keep smiling and waving your arms around like you know what your doing because they'll be 10x more likely to cast someone who tried than someone who just stood there like there to cool to do anything, they might give you a couple minutes to read over a part or it might be a cold reading-either way all you have to do is get into put emotion in and dont be afraid to add in gestures of your own

most of my favorite memories have come from being in school plays.even if you get cast in the chorus the experience is amazing

-if you really not sure that you want to try out, go to the audition for moral support and that way you can see all that goes on
