Watch BBC. Remember Anna is a teacher so she would speak the proper Queen's English not cockney or any other dialect. Practice every day and watch yourself in the mirror. Maybe get some documentaries on the Queen and her speeches and listen and watch her too.

Watch/Listen to people speaking fluent English accents.

Also, I find that when speaking with en English Accent, you always have to make a funny face.

A British accent is one of the easiest accents for me to do, personally. What you can do to make it even better is to brush up on British terminology - although many words are similar to North American English, there are also a great number of different ones. If you know what the words mean, then you'll be able to speak with the right emphasis. To improve the accent itself, you can watch British movies. A good one is Love Actually - there's more than one regional accent as well. (Although a standard one would be good for Anna). Harry Potter is also good, especially Emma Watson or Fiona Shaw. You can also listen to tapes, either of books being read or general ones. Keira Knightley is also a good accent to model yourself after, especially for Anna.

Don't pronounce 'r's that are at the end of the word. in america they are always pronounced but in england we just let the word fade out.

Words like france and dance (but NOT romance!) have a long aaah sound like you're sighing.

This might sound a bit wierd coming from someone who speaks in standard english but have a slight air of snobbery about you. be very pleasant but at the same time have an air of there being something slightly better in you than of anyone else in the room.

Take the time to pronounce every 't' that comes your way. if it's an unnatural place to say a 't' sound, slow down and make room for it. chances are, it's somewhere we'd pronounce it.

Words like 'not', 'hot' and 'bottle' need to have a short 'o' sound. there is a very good example in love actually of the word 'bottle' being said. say them all like that.

'Love Actually' is the film to watch. Pause it everytime Hugh Grant speaks and copy what he just said, he has a fantastic accent to use.

Good luck.

Another good movie to check out is "My Fair Lady".
