if yr scared people wont like you for the real you....??

Maybe this isn't the place for you. Try psych.

Because when forced to change and portray someone else, you end up discovering more about yourself and others.

Because by definition if you are "Acting", then you can't be something you are.

it's called stretching

Look at Phillip Seymour Hoffman in Twister as the lovable clown vs MI3 "Do yu have a girlfriend a wife, I will find her and kill her right in front of you."

you say that there is no point in acting as someone you are not. actually you are wrong. acting allows us to put ourselves in other peoples' shoes, to experience life as another person, without switching your job at all. it can make you a better person if you willingly allow yourself to understand and experience life through this character. for example, you have the role as a hitman. your character has to kill to survive in the world. you would feel how he feels and indirectly you know what it feels like to be a hitman without actually being one. there are pros and cons of being an actor but acting makes us better persons whether you admit it or not. if you are an actor, you would know what i mean. if you think that what i said was crap then listen carefully. i have been an actor before. the feeling was wonderful. i felt happiness, sadness, laughter, insanity. u name it, i've experienced it.

There is no point.
