Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Is it OK to audition for a Disney Channel movie/show without any experience?

Question:I mean like, I have no experience in acting. But I really want to audition for a Disney Channel Movie or show, I want to know if that seems right. I want to audition for High School Musical 3. Or maybe I could be an "extra". What do you think?

don't ever let anyone stop your dreams, follow your passions, Let us take Pele, probably the greatest soccer player of all time. he didn't even start to play like until he was 15 and then he was a professional like a few years later or something like that and they thought Einstein was retarded up thru 5th grade, go for it, enjoy yourself, if you never try, you will never know. I jumped in and enjoyed life, Robin Williams says in "Dead Poets Society", most people live quiet lives of desperation, don't be one of those, seize the day, enjoy your life, you only get one. go for it :)( a retired elem teacher here :)
Spotted by football star Waldemar de Brito,[5] Pelé began playing for Santos Futebol Clube at just 15 and his national team at 16, and won his first World Cup at 17

Go for it. But without experience, don't get your hopes up.

You might want to try community theater first. If your looking for a role as an extra NO experience necessary.

Everybody's gotta start somewhere...why not, but also be prepared for rejection. There's a lot of it in this business. Just try again. You say you don't have experience acting, but what you're looking at is musical theatre---can you sing, dance or play an instrument? They will probably want to see that at the audition. Also bring a few copies of the same photo with your name, address, phone # etc., maybe what school you attend written (typed/printed) on the back. They use those pictures to reference/contact you for a callback. Break a leg, kid!
