Acting opportunities for my 8 year old daughter?

Question:She's incredible! She looks up to Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, Vanessa Hudgens, etc. She actually looks very much like Miley.

Her talents are broad & currently attends a school for the academically talented and creative. We live in Michigan....just don't know where to start.

You don't say where in Michigan your family is located. There are quite a few theatres around your state. You can probably find some just by checking your local phone book or the calendar listings in your local newspaper. You can find more by ordering one of the directories you'll find listed here:

Once you find some theatres reasonably close to your home (don't neglect campus and community theatres), you can call to find out about upcoming productions and audition opportunities. Not every show will have roles for children, but those that do will be delighted to hear of your daughter's interest and her mother's supportive attitude.

For one don't' let her look up to Vanessa Hudgens because she got busted for taking naked pictures. Then see if there are any plays or something like that in your area and let her try out for them.

Well Michigan is not a very good place unless you are close to Chicago which is a very good place.

You start by trying to get her an agent. Look in the phone book for talent agents and submit her photo with a letter asking them to represent her.

Good luck, there is almost no work for children in the professional world.
