Drama lighting help?

The most common lights at my school are :

PARs can lights(Parabolic Aluminized Reflector) these are above as simple as you get and everyone uses them! There simply a light in a can.

Ellipsoidals (these are the one that you can change the shape of the light (i.e square, triangle circle) and also you can put covering on them to give the light a pattern

Fresnels (the are used for specific lightings like side-, up-, and back- lighting) But can be used anywhere

Spotlight for obvious reasons!

We also have other lights like, floodlights, Cyc lights, border lights, Scoops, but the above are the most common!
