Breaking into modeling?

Question:I was thinking about modeling a little this summer, just for fun. I'm not interested in a modeling career, or doing photo shoots for big companies; avant-garde or local shoots are fine. But I am uncertain how to put together a portfolio (especially given I have no previous experience), and how to get it out there. This isn't a venture I want to sink any money into, so I would prefer to not employ an agent.

Have some pictures taken by friends or family

Contact photographers in your area and see if they have any interest in using you

Contact photo students at colleges.
