Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Any musicals before 1965?Question:??? Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: ??? It's not quite clear what you're asking... Many would say that there were relatively few musicals of note *after* 1965. All the works of Rodgers & Hammerstein, such as Oklahoma (1943), Carousel (1945), and South Pacific (1949), nearly all that of Lerner & Loewe, including Brigadoon (1947) and My Fair Lady (1956), plus such musicals as Frank Loesser's "Guys and Dolls" (1950) and Adler & Ross's "The Pajama Game" (1954) all predate 1965. Even Bock & Harnick's "Fiddler on the Roof" dates from 1964. I suppose it depends on what you are looking for. DJ Of course. Most of the great musicals were written before 1965: Oklahoma, Annie Get Your Gun, Carousel, South Pacific, etc. |
