Position:Home>Theater & Acting> I need a song to audition for Little Women the Musical?

Question:Hi! I'm 14 years old and I'm auditioning for Little Women, The Musical. It is being put on by a kids company, so adults would be played by kids, etc. I'm wondering what part I should audition for and a song I could maybe do? I have a range from F3 to G5. I sing alto most of the time, but I sing second soprano sometimes too. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

For a play such as Little Women your range is right in the ideal zone. Of course the lead roles are the March Girls
Joe (second oldest)
Meg (oldest)
Amy (second youngest)
Beth (youngest)

Beth is my favorite part in the whole play as she had a very emotional dying scene which really is fabulous

I suggest the song Home from Beauty and the Beast. It's the same genre and it's beautiful

Also try songs from Oliver or Les Miserables. Both are of the same genre and not overused.

Also try Somewhere Thats Green from Little Shop of Horrors.

Or another option is how lovely to be a women from bye bye birdie or one boy. But those have romantic themes and unless you are going for Amy, Meg or Joe that wouldn't really be appropriate.

Next I'd suggest the song "The Boyfriend" or "I could be happy with you" or "room in bloomsbury" from the musical The Boyfriend

Finally I'd suggest "many a new day" or "out of my dreams" from Oklahoma! Again those romantic themes but the genre of the music is the same and the feel of the music is great!

GOOD LUCK WITH THE AUDITION!

little women is a great play I'm sure you will enjoy it

I think you should sing Tomorrow from the Musical Annie. I love the musical Annie. I went to see the Musical last week. I like the songs. I think you should do tomorrow. If you need lyrics for Tomorrow you can google it.

A good song that isn't as well known is "A Change in Me" from the broadway version of Beauty and the Beast.
