Your parents are right, most "Acting and casting call sites" ARE scams. Do you think your parents should have to prove their willingness to "give you a chance" by wasting their money on scams---would that make you feel better?

If you're looking for a place to START, it should be in your school plays and community theatre. Type "community theatre ________(your city, or nearest large city)" into a search engine and see what comes up. If you are successful at getting parts at this level, you can then see about getting a real agent for professional work.

With your parents' permission, of course.

Get an agent and get off the computer!

Do you have a theater program at school that you could join? Do you have a community theater you can get involved in? You have to develop your acting skills if you've never acted before. Also, you will have the opportunity to meet a lot of people who could help you.

You need to prove to them that you're dedicated. Try auditioning for an acting school. But you better not be doing it for the fame. I've been acting since I was very little, and I hate it when people do it jest because they want to be famous. If you do go to an audition and don't make it, don't worry. I've been to tons of auditions, and it took me quite a while to get where I am today. Just keep trying and remember, the more nos you get, the closer you are to a yes.

We have lots in common! I wanna be an actress as well and I'm also 13. And Lucky for you I have a place where you can audition for Disney movies. I'm auditioning for High school musical 3. All you have to do is send in your acting resume. Just type it up on your computer!
Good Luck!
BTW, here's the site
www.disneyauditions.com
(If the link doesn't work just type in disney auditions on google or yahoo search.)

You are stuck. You can't do any professional work until you are 18 unless your parents sign for you. Friends and family opinons of your talent are untrustworthy as they are biased. There are no legitimate casting sites for inexperienced beginners like yourself. Do you think that girl who thinks she is auditioning for Disney is going to be taken to LA by her parents for a try out? I don't. So you are stuck with school theatre until you somehow convince your parents to support your dream. It isn't so bad. YOu can learn a lot in school plays and other speech and drama events. So do that.

Well first off learn how to spell, even the easy words u messed up, and well if ur parents arent willing to take u then your schit out of luck, ur parents must be on a set with their kid until they are 18,but for now the most u can do it try out for the school plays to build up a little resume then once ur 18 get urself experience as an extra and then an agent.

The others are right, without your parents you are absolutely stuck. You can however show your parents the following sites:

http://www.backstage.com/bso/index.jsp - click on "search casting" You can see the first part of the info for free, but to see the rest you have to be a subscriber. This site comes from the industry newspaper by the same name, that used to be called Dramalogue back in the day. It's an industry standard and VERY reputable.

http://actorsaccess.com/ - free to set up an account and look at the audition info, however it costs money to submit yourself for the auditions electronically. DO NOT set up yor account without your parents permission, help, guidance, etc. This site comes from the folks at Breakdown Services which is another inductry standard. That's the casting service that every legit agent uses daily to get casting notices for their clients. ActorsAccess is a watered down version that includes lesser roles and ads... that's what you get in the free version. You cannot get access to the agency version without an agent, but the roles, shows, etc. are absolutely legit. There are also theatre roles and student films listed here so it's a good all around casting service, but submittinf on here can get expensive if they have a lot for your area and you do it often. I suggest checking it out and if they do have a lot for you, get a subscription to Showfax (yet another industry standard service). It's a sides service. They provide script pages for your auditions when the casting director has them available. You can get them through Showfax via online or fax instead of driving all over town to get them. One year is only $68 and you can submit electronically for auditions on actorsaccess for that same year UNLIMITED. Awesome deal.

BTW, just because your friends and family say you're good doesn't mean you're good enough to make it in the entertainment industry. Get into classes, you need formal training. Pros are always training.

Once you have the training and you've built a decent resume, that's when you try getting an agent but until you're an adult you can't do anything without the support of your parents. Get them on board or hold off until you're out of the house.

good luck,
Marianne
