It's not an agency and they don't purport to be one. It's an opportunity for the kids to go on camera and be evaluated. I took my daughter to their screening in LA over 2 months ago ( there is no charge). She had a great time and we ended up getting called by one of their clients. Since then - my daughter has worked on Boston Legal, and a national Wal-Mart commercial. She is still just getting her feet wet - but she never would have gotten these gigs if it wasn't for this first step. Screen tests are typically just a place for kids to been seen by companies -that's it. There can be no promise of work afterwards..it's up to you and your child. And yes, if you want your child to really work in this business, they will need to go to acting classes at some point - I don't know why people have a problem with their child learning the craft of acting. You can't just book a job on a multi million dollar production with no experience - you need to start somewhere!! My daughter was still relatively new to this when she went to the Kidz In Media screen test - but she has really progressed since and it's worth going if your child was invited.

I'm sure the "screen test" is free, if this is a scam. Right afterward, they'll hit you up for money for acting lessons, modeling lessons, and general "polishing". Oh, and expensive headshots using their photographer, and that they need IMMEDIATELY.

I've never heard of this outfit, but if she says many of "their kids" act in movies and commercials, ask them to name the kids, and identify which movies and commercials. ALL of them. So your mom and dad can check them out.

If they're legitimate, they should not only be able to do that, they shouldn't mind doing it. And the information should be verifiable.

You see, a lot of times people will lie to get your money. But they can't falsely claim they represented a particular actor, or got them a certain job, without risking a lawsuit. And they know it.

Is this by chance a Maryland agency? Closest I could find to that name was something called Kidz in the Biz, also called the Annapolis Talent Agency.
