First off, you need to get professional (or professional-looking) head shots. I've never been on an audition that didn't require them. You also need to create a casting resume. If there's not much to go on your resume, highlight your abilities more than your actual experience.

The next thing to do would be to see if there are any casting agencies in your area. These aren't quite the same as agents in that they don't pitch you specifically. However, they can open the door to several commercial and movie auditions for you. Usually you'll just have to fill out a questionaire, give them a few headshots and possibly pay a small fee to be listed on their website (if they have one.) The fees I've seen for this have been around $20 - $25.

Also, there are certain websites that will send you audition leads in your area. Though they allow you to sign up for free and usually offer a limited free trial of their service, you would ultimately have to subscribe to receive details of auditions.

Don't be fooled by modeling schools that promise to get you on to famous television shows, movies, etc. If you are asked for any money (other than a nominal listing fee for websites as mentioned above) walk the other way.

The final resort would be to hire an agent but this can be tricky. There are several slimy ones out there who will ask for money up front. This is not legitimate. Your agent should only make money when YOU make money. They take a prearranged cut of your earnings. At most, they will ask you for your head shots and casting resume. You'll want to choose someone with a good reputation and have a professional or highly educated adult read over the contract agreement so that you don't sign your life away.

My last suggestion is to enroll in some acting classes at a community college near you. This can hone your skills, increase your experience, expand your resume and possibly help you with making connections to people in the industry.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

This smells like a familiar hoax. If your cousin wanted to help you she could ask the powers that be to give you an audition, especially if you are attractive and she shows them your photo. Maybe she doesn't want you there. So how was she discovered? Do what she did. There really are no calls for people with no experience and no training, cause you want to know why? they probably have no talent to go with it.
