What is the play, Wicked about?

It is about the two witches from The Wizard of Oz, Elpheba, the green witch, and Glinda, the nice witch. They (according to the book by Gregory Maguire and the play) were friends in college and then broke apart because they each used their magic for different things and then they meet again and all these things happen. I have seen the play on Broadway and read the book. The play was wonderful, the book, not so much.

It is actually bases on the book, Wicked. It is about the witches of oz as they grow up and grow into their powers. The sequal is 'Son of a Witch'.

It's kind of like the Wizard of Oz, that is its base, however it is afterthe book, Wicked. It is amaaaaazing though, one of Broadway's best.

As mentioned earlier, it is based off the book Wicked and it deals with the events surrounding the Wizard of Oz storyline from the view of the Wicked Witch of the West. It basically shows how she came to be infamous and what "really" happened. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Wicked gives the background story for the Wizard of Oz, except it focuses on the Wicked Witch of the West (Elphaba) and the Good Witch (Glenda), not Dorothy. The story starts with Elphaba being born and how she is not accepted by her parents right away because of her green skin. She grows up and goes to college where no one accepts her still. She meets Glenda there, and they become roommates and eventually friends. Glenda falls for a guy named Fieyero. Elphaba has a lot of magical talent and is noticed the the Headmistress. She decides to take her to meet the wizard. Elphaba takes Glenda with her. There, the wizard asks Elphaba to do something she is completely against and she threatens to tell on the Wizard and his evil doings. Instead, the Wizard and the Headmistress make the people of Oz believe that Elphaba is a wicked witch, and Glenda is good. They believe her. I won't ruin the ending since you're going to see it, but there's the jist of it :) I saw it in NYC, it was amazing. Enjoy!

This is an amazing play!!! It is about Elphaba the wicked witch of the west and Glinda the good witch and how they used to be friends. It reveals the secret behind the red shoes, why the lion is cowardly, and lots of stuff. It is way good. There is one song called For good, it is way meaningful and amazing!!!
