I feel having acted for many years, that a simple 12-14 font size in a traditional font (think Arial, Times New Roman, or Bookman Old Style) is the best. It is easily readable, straightforward, and there won't be any annoyances with the type being too small, nor will it scream desperate for attention, like it might if the font is too large.

New Roman, point 14. It is easy to read even in dim light, and if someone has forgotten their reading glasses.
