Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: the producers are on strike

well there's a strike going on with the stagehands and guess what no stagehands no scenery, no scenery no show. but there are a few broadway shows open and all the off broadway shows are open too.

Generally, Midtown/Times Square is not a residential area. It is a tourist area, and of course consists primarily of hotels and theatres. This means, not many apartments. However, that doesn't mean there aren't apartments. The bigger buildings with many windows, those are apartments, VERY exspensive apartments.

However, if you meant the street Broadway, it runs basically the whole length of Manhattan, and there are apartments along it in the many different boroughs.

Good luck finding a place to live!

After reading your question again, if you meant broadway shows running, there are currently 8 shows running: Mary Poppins, Xanadu, Cymbeline, Mauritius, Pygmalion, The Ritz, Young Frankenstein, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Also, all off-broadway shows are still running.
