Question Home

Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Disney channel...and acting?

Question:So I've been through acting and modeling workshops, classes, and schools. And now that I graduated everything. I want to start getting some jobs. My dream was always to be on a Disney channel show or movie. How do I go about getting auditions? what do I have to send in? Where to I have to go...Details please?

And please dont rain on my parade. Im not doing this to become famous and get money or to meet the disney stars. Im doin this to be a role model for kids younger then me. and cause acting (and some modeling) is my passion. I also want to prove everyone I can do somthing right, and reach my dream. but somtimes we all need alittle help to get there. so please dont leave nasty comments, I hear enough of "Your never going to be able to act, or your dreaming to high" from friends, family, and teachers.

Thanks<3

Go to a big city and look for auditions, such as the "High school musical" which the auditions were taking place in Sacramento, CA.
Just keep looking around for auditions in cities that are well known, and you may soon find one.
Just know that there is always going to be a rejection, so lets say you audition for an disney show that is to be on air in, 3 months, than you do your part.. and the director says: "We need somebody to be more ______, so we wont take you in".
im sure you have had lots of experience, and have encountered incidents like that before... but hey.. its all part of becoming an actor!
so i wish you well!

to much talking!!! plz right little!

The best thing you can do now is find an agent who will work hard to get you auditios for the kind of work you want. If you want to be a serious actress, it is essential. Good luck and never let anyone tell you that you are dreaming too big.

try disney auditions.com and get the adress to go to it

why would you go to school for to be on the Disney channel, or any tv other than Discovery or History channels? as they only matter.

do something productive with your ability to learn/intelligence...like medical research...

A friend of mine moved to LA to do that! He ended up getting small roles on "Till death" and "The suiet life of zach and cody"

He moved back home becuase he missed it and wasnt too fond of LA, but I think he could have made it big if he would have stuck with it!

Im sure you can start with being an extra and maybe eventually move into the big times and be the next ashley tisdale!!

I've seen atleast 100 posts about people wanting to be on Disney and saying it was there "dream". There is many more than you think wanting to be on it, including me, and very very little make it; It's like one in a million. Although, faith and confidence will get you a long way.

Heres how to start-
First you will need an agent. This might take awhile, you'll be lucky if you even get one. You also need to move to LA for Disney. First you will need a headshot (8x10") and a resume. Send that in to your agents and see if you can land one. Then once you have an agent, mention you would really like to work on Disney, they will try to find you auditions. You will go to many auditions. This process usually takes AT LEAST a year. There are MANY scams out there. Don't go with an agent over the internet. You need to have an agent you can meet with in real life. Be sure to get a franchised agent to.

Oh dont worry i support ur dream it's a good. My teachers son actually was just recently in an audition for Hannah Montana. He didnt make it but he did get called back. I think there are random Disney auditions everywhere just search it. And good luck! : )

Ur best bet is to get an agent
as far as Disney is concerned id say if u want to make it big give Disney a miss
as some1 who is passionate about acting and singing i cant take people seriously after they have been in those type of disney 'film's (eg. High School Musical, Lizzy Mcguire etc)
Put ur talent to better use

Just start small, you'll rise quicker than you thought. Hey, try advertising urself first, like YOUTUBE! Someone famous might see your talent. Hey, I'll be a fan. Make a show called
'Ally Cali" or somethin. A mini show! idunno, something.

Generally you have to submit to the Casting Directors they use, which includes

Carol Goldwasser
Hannah Montana Casting
Goldwasser/Meltzer
5800 West Sunset Blvd
Building 11 Suite 201
Hollywood, CA 90028.

Ruth Lambert
Lambert/McGee Casting
1040 North Las Palmas Avenue
Building 26 Room 202
Los Angeles CA 90038

J.O.N.A.S. Casting
Sally Steiner/Barbie Block
1800 Stewart St.
Santa Monica , CA 90404

Catherine Stroud
Suite Life
Hollywood Center Studios
1040 North Las Palmas
Building 33 3rd Floor
Hollywood CA 90038

They all want to see a picture and resume.

Without a resume that at least includes school plays, they will probably refer to Central Casting for extra work on the shows.
